In his senior year playing football at Coldwater High School, Trell Kimmons caught 13 touchdown passes and made four interceptions, so it's no surprise that the University of Alabama recruited him for the gridiron. But Trell took his speed to Hinds Community College, where he won three individual national championships and set national championship indoor meet records at 60m and 200m. His time of 6.53 seconds for 60m ranked him as the fifth-fastest man in the world indoors for 2006, at just 20 years old. Trell calls his chance to run as a pro "a blessing," appreciating the opportunity to travel and "to compete against the guys I watched on TV." Trell won three races - including a 100m/200m double in Italy - in 2006, his first season on the European circuit.
